Malaysia; Lunch @ Sin Lean Leang Restaurant

Another spot which was recommended to me. It is actually at one corner of the Georgetown, Penang and located the residential flats. Even myself, I will not venture in there and not thinking that the place has good food especially oysters. So, if you are a lover of oysters, then you should look for this place; Restoran Sin Lean Heang. There are others few more shops next them who are also selling oyster noodles but are not so popular.

..but be warned, you may have to wait up to an hour or more to get your 1st dish to be served. Yup… that’s how popular this place is with the locals. Heard that they only open for lunch onwards and close on Sundays.

After waiting patiently for more than an hour, our 1st dish arrived. Fried oyster noodles. This is most popular dish.

Overall…. it is a good place and definitely I will be going here again. (haha.. a matter of fact in a few weeks time). As for the price, it is bit quite pricey for a average looking shop but what do you expect when you are having 4 dishes that has oyster in them. =)

Taiwan – Hsinchu; Noodles at a small shop

Sorry for the long break here. Here’s more food hunting…..

When I was Hsinchu, Taiwan a month back, my Taiwan colleagues brought me to a small noodle shop hidden at one corner of the street. If I did not walk further in, I would not know there was a noodle shop there. It was located in a old shop lot as seen below.

From outside, guess the 1st impression will not impress you.

20131014-074955 am.jpg

actually it is quite popular with the locals.  If you are an outsider, you will surely missed this as you will not think it existed.

Tables are limited too and if you are late, you will have to queue and wait for your table.

Taiwan; Hsinchu, Beef Noodles

One of the places that I managed to eat when I was in Taiwan.

It was lunch time and my Taiwan colleagues brought me to a Beef Noodle shop. If I am not mistaken, it was located in Jhubei, the suburb next to Hsinchu. We were there early. The tables were limited; I think about 6 to 9 tables only and there were still a lot of  vacant tables when we were there. By the time we left, people were already queuing outside to wait for tables.

Breakfast – Penang Curry Noodles

My weekly place for weekends will always be to stops at the hawker stalls next to the wet market for my breakfast.

Last week, I just wanted to take something spicy. Guess you must be wondering having spicy food for breakfast? Well it is normal over here in Malaysia. 😊

I ordered the Penang curry noodles. It is different from the curry laksa that is in Kuala Lumpur. The soup was not so creamy and also not so red hot. The chilli paste was also separated so that you can add as per your liking.

20130202-124211 PM.jpg

This was my bowl of Penang curry noodles; noodles mixed with beehoon. Look at the spoon; filled to the brim with chilli paste. Haha!!

Lunch – Dry Curry Pork Rib Noodle

It is close to Chinese New Year and small stalls are set up in the mall where they can promote and sell their stuff.

We saw this stall selling noodles and rice and it looks good. Heard that it is famous for it noodles with drumstick but what caught my eyes was the curry pork rib noodles. Hehe….
